SALINE COUNTY SHERIFF'S LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM
POST #37
Goal of the Law Enforcement Explorer Program is to teach young adults the values needed to succeed in a law enforcement career and in life.
- Self-Discipline
- Self-Confidence
- Self-Respect
- Teamwork and the desire to help others
The program is designed to introduce young adult men and women 14 to 20 years of age interested in pursuing a career in law and to provide law enforcement training and experience to the Explorer participant through mentoring, classroom instruction, and hands-on training. Saline County Sheriff Explorers work hand-in-hand with deputies, dispatchers, and detectives during ride-a-longs with deputies and while working at the Sheriff's Office. In addition to the law enforcement training, Explorers receive the opportunity to obtain skills in a business environment while communicating with professionals from various agencies on a one-on-one basis.
