The Reserves are currently headed by Captain Jim Kane. There are approximately 35 reserves, currently serving at the Sheriff's Office. These exceptional citizens, both male and female, volunteer their time to assist the Deputies in patrolling the county and help answer calls.
They are required to attend a minimum 110 hour class on Law Enforcement, before they can even begin to train with the full time officers.
They are required to attend monthly meetings and must work a minimum number of hours per month to maintain active status. Periodic training and classes are also required.
If you would like to join the Saline County Reserves contact the Sheriff's Office and one of the reserve officers will be back in touch with you.
