On July 4, 2012, at approximately 8:35 p.m., the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to 10117 Gunter Loop, Benton, Saline County, Arkansas in reference to a shooting.  Deputies discovered that the victim, Ricky Depriest W/M 52 YOA, had been shot by his son (suspect), Jason Depriest.  Jason met the Deputies at the residence and surrendered without incident.  Ricky was transported to a local hospital with a bullet wound to the back.

Ricky and Jason had gotten into a verbal argument, and the suspect then pulled a pistol on the victim.  The victim then ran from the residence, and the suspect then began firing multiple shots at him striking him once.

Attempted First Degree Murder Class A Felony  Fifty thousand dollar bond ($50,000.00) was issued by the Judge on Friday Bond hearing.
