The Saline County Detention Center is under the leadership of Detention Administrator Captain Wade Gilliam.
Capt. Wade Gilliam
The mission of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center in partnership with the community is to operate the county jail in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. It is a core function of the jail to be fiscally prudent while providing continuous monitoring for inmate and staff safety.
The purpose of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center is to provide a detention facility that is secure and safe and where the rights of inmates are protected. It is the goal of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office to establish an environment of respect and dignity toward inmates and to strive for staff sensitivity toward persons under their care.
The responsibilities for inmate care and officer safety are tremendous. Correctional Officers are responsible for facility security by overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been convicted of a criminal offense and sentenced to serve time in jail. One way to achieve this is to instill the mindset that all Correctional Officers are to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner to all persons who enter the facility.
All detainee needs such as hygiene, food, calling cards and mail supplies can be purchased by going to www.citytelecoin.com. In order to place money on an inmate's account, you can either visit www.citytelecoin.com or put money in the kiosk that is located in the lobby of the Detention Center. Cash or credit cards are accepted.
