On Monday, June 15, 2015, at approximately 1:30 pm, Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies were dispatched to Cole Lane, East End, for a possible shooting. Upon arrival, Dylan Easterday, 29, was interviewed. According to Mr. Easterday, while riding a lawn tractor on Cole Lane, he was shot at, at least five times, with what appeared to be a .22 caliber rifle. The suspect in this shooting has been identified as Christopher Armstrong, W/M, 37, of Hensley. Armstrong was last seen operating a 1990’s primer black Chevrolet pick-up truck. This investigation is being led by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). Detectives have applied for an arrest warrant for Armstrong, charging him with: (1) felon in possession of the firearm; (2) Terroristic Act; and (3) two counts of aggravated assault. According to CID detectives, additional charges may be filed at a later date. The motive for this shooting is not clear and the investigation is continuing. Sheriff Wright also strongly encourages anyone with information on Christopher Armstrong’s whereabouts to call detectives immediately.
