The Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), working closely with the Department of Human Services (DHS), began an investigation after a 7-month old infant was hospitalized and found to have methamphetamines in his/her system. The infant was hospitalized on February 16, 2016 and is still being treated by hospital staff members. Detectives from the SCSO Criminal Investigation Division (CID) developed probable cause for two arrest warrants along with a search warrant for a residence. This morning, SCSO detectives, members of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), a Patrol Division K-9 officer and K-9 “Jerry Lee” executed a search warrant on Puckett Road in Alexander. Suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were recovered from that residence. Arrest warrants were served on Kevin Manson and Jennifer Edwards. Manson and Edwards were transported to the SCSO Detention Center and both have been charged with: (1) introduction of a controlled substance to another, class Y felony and: (2) endangering the welfare of a minor, class D felony. Although still hospitalized, the 7-month old infant is in the custody of DHS. Bail has not yet been set for Manson or Edwards.
