The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office is under the leadership of Captain Daniel Dodson. There are 5 full-time investigators, 2 victim advocates, 2 full-time Domestic Violence detectives, 1 sergeant and 1 secretary. CID is also supported by 2 Crime Against Children Division investigators from the Arkansas State Police.
CID investigates all felony crimes that occur in the unincorporated areas of Saline County. Once a uniformed deputy takes a report, CID will begin a follow-up investigation. CID is responsible for processing and cataloging evidence at crime scenes. CID investigators also prepare affidavits for arrest warrants, search warrants, interview witnesses, victims and suspects and perform many other related duties.
Criminal Investigators assist patrol deputies in the investigation of fatality accidents on Saline County roads. Several negligent homicide convictions have been obtained against drivers in fatality accidents.
CID is also tasked with registering and verifying sex offenders in the unincorporated area of the county. There are approximately 174 registered sex offenders in Saline County.
