BENTON, AR – Friday May 31st marked the culmination of thirteen weeks of intensive academic and physical training for two Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies as they graduated from the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in North Little Rock. Sergeant Christie Griffin and Deputy Briana Sharver completed the 520-hour program of instruction which included subjects such as criminal and civil law, firearms, emergency driving, physical training, hand-to-hand combat and technical writing. Sergeant Griffin received special recognition with an award for finishing first place in academics. The keynote address was given by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, who encouraged the new deputies and officers to be humble servants and to always be willing to answer the call of their fellow person. Sergeant Griffin is assigned as an administrative supervisor in the SCSO Detention Center and Deputy Sharver is assigned to the Patrol Division. Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright congratulated the deputies and welcomed them to the Sheriff’s Office. |
