On Monday, August 3, 2015, at approximately 6:30 pm, Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies were dispatched to an address on Jeanne Drive, Mabelvale, for a disturbance with a weapon.

Shortly after the arrival of deputies, Anthony PILKINGTON was arrested for aggravated assault and violation of an Order of Protection.

Prior to deputies clearing the scene, an infant was observed to have fresh and significant burns to his neck and chest. The mother of the child, later identified as Destiny WALKER, was asked to respond to the SCSO with the child. WALKER agreed and was transported to the SCSO by a neighbor.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) as well as an investigator from the Arkansas State Police, Crimes Against Children Division (CACD), were contacted and responded to the SCSO.

The investigation conducted by the CID detectives and CACD investigator resulted in the arrest of WALKER and additional charges being placed on PILKINGTON. WALKER was charged with:

                       PERMITTING CHILD ABUSE

                       PERMITTING ABUSE (MINOR) FELONY

                       ENDANGERING WELFARE OF MINOR 3RD DEG

                       ENDANGERING WELFARE OF MINOR 3RD DEGREE

PILKINGTON’s additional charges were:

ENDANGERING WELFARE OF MINOR-1ST DEGREE

ENDANGERING WELFARE OF MINOR 3RD DEG

The infant was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services (DHS). The infant received medical treatment while in the custody of DHS.

This investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed on both defendants at a later time.

PILKINGTON and WALKER are currently incarcerated at the Saline County Detention Center. A bond hearing has not yet been concluded for either defendant.
